Booking Hotel Service

When cargo bargains with the ship to reserve a spot for carrying commodities, this is known as booking.

A type of charter party for a cruise. Generally speaking, the port agency or the shipper directly with the shipping business reserve a portion of the liner's shipment capacity.
 

In accordance with the relevant liner schedule, the cargo side will reserve the space with the ship side; the ship side will then contact the booking party via the agent and issue the booking manifest after developing a reasonable loading selection plan based on the deadweight tons, volume of cargo space, and cargo characteristics of the particular booking space.

What we usually call chartering and booking is a combination of chartering and booking.

In the process of international transportation and delivery of goods, under the mode of shipping, if the quantity of goods is large, you can lease the whole ship or even more than one ship for shipment, this is "charter"; if the quantity of goods is not large, you can lease part of the space for shipment, which is "book shipping space".

The act of booking, which is typically a liner booking, involves the cargo shipper (shipper) or his agent choosing the suitable ship and scheduling a meeting with the carrier (typically the liner company or its business organization) to reserve space, load, and request transportation via oral or booking letter. The carrier then commits to processing the application.

The booking of space is usually handled by the shipping agency or can be booked directly from the shipping company.

Generally speaking, when the shipper needs to book the whole ship space, voyage charter is often used to complete the transport of the goods; in other cases, liner booking is usually used.

The operation process of liner booking is mainly divided into the following steps:

Make an Inquiry

First of all, the shipper needs to know the port, price and shipping schedule of the major shipping companies from the port of shipment to each continent, the ports commonly used by the major routes, and the ports that the shippers often need to serve.

Book a Space

After comparison, the shipper selects the appropriate shipping company, book the space from the ship according to the appropriate liner schedule, and fill in the waybill.

Booking is Accepted

The ship shall draw up a reasonable shipping plan according to the load provided by the cargo, the volume of the cargo space and the specific characteristics of the booked cargo, and contact the cargo through the agent.

Issue the Booking Manifest

After the two parties have reached an agreement through consultation, the ship will issue a manifest (Book Note, Berth Note).
