According to the latest data from the Shanghai shipping exchange, sea freight from Shanghai to the west port of Los Angeles rose again by 9.7% a week on Nov. 3, returning to the $2100/FEU barrier.

 

It is understood that this is the fourth consecutive period of increase in the freight rate of the US-West route according to the statistics of the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, with a cumulative increase of 21.6%.

 

Meanwhile, freight rates for exports from Shanghai to New York Port rose 3.1 percent to $2434 per FEU.

 

North American routes:

 

The basic port market freight (shipping and maritime surcharge) in the western United States was US $2102/FEU, an increase of 9.7% over the previous period.

 

The market freight rate (shipping and maritime surcharge) of the basic port in the east of the United States was US $2434 per FEU, an increase of 3.1% over the previous period.

 

European route: the freight rate of the European basic port is US $756/TEU, 1.7% lower than the previous period; the freight rate of the Mediterranean route is US $1231/TEU, which is 0.8% higher than that of the previous period.

 

South American route: the freight rate is US $2660/TEU, up 9.7% from the previous period.

 

Persian Gulf route: the freight rate is US $1268/TEU, up 15.2% from the previous period. Australia and New Zealand route: the freight rate is US $838/TEU, up 5.8% from the previous period.

 

It is reported that data from the latest issue of Drewry also show that sea freight from Shanghai to the port of Los Angeles in the United States has returned to US $2100 / FEU-the US-West route recorded a weekly increase of 11% last week, with freight climbing to US $2175 / FEU!

The latest global container liner tracking data from Drewry show that in the main east-west headway trade: between week 45 (November 6-November 12) and week 49 (December 4-December 10), a total of 52 flights were announced for trans-Pacific, transatlantic and Asia-Nordic Mediterranean routes, accounting for 8 per cent of the total planned flights.

 

During this period, 42 per cent of empty flights will occur on eastbound trans-Pacific routes, 38 per cent on Asia-Nordic and Mediterranean routes and 19 per cent on transatlantic westbound routes.

 

The reliability of carrier services is slightly higher than in previous weeks-an average of 92 per cent of ships are expected to sail as scheduled in the next five weeks, Drewry said.
