Ocean Network Express (ONE), a leading global container shipping company, has revealed plans for the launch of three new North Europe Transatlantic services in partnership with some of the world's prominent shipping lines: CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping Lines, Oriental Overseas Container Line (OOCL), and Evergreen Line (EMC). Slated to commence operations in February 2025, these services are designed to bolster the maritime connectivity between pivotal European ports and key regions on the East Coast, Gulf, and West Coast of North America.

The strategic collaboration, which pools the resources and expertise of these major ocean carriers, is set to enhance the efficiency and reach of Transatlantic shipping routes, offering direct coverage to 14 significant ports and providing shippers with competitive and dependable shipping solutions.

Jeremy Nixon, CEO of ONE, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming partnership, stating, "As ONE, we are excited about our new collaboration with CMA CGM, COSCO, OOCL, and EMC in the Transatlantic trade, commencing in February 2025. By combining our collective fleet deployment and market experience, we aim to deliver a comprehensive and reliable end-to-end customer service offering across all the key Transatlantic market sectors."

New service port rotations

The new services, AT1, AT2, and AT3, will feature the following port rotations:

AT1 (Transatlantic 1) will link the UK's Southampton with major European hubs such as Antwerp, Rotterdam, and Bremerhaven, before crossing the Atlantic to serve Le Havre in France, and then heading to the East Coast of North America with stops in New York, Norfolk, and Baltimore, before returning to Southampton.

AT2 (Transatlantic 2) will start from Le Havre and call at Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Bremerhaven, before making its Transatlantic crossing to the U.S. South Atlantic Seaboard, with ports of call in Charleston and Savannah, and then back to Le Havre.

AT3 (Transatlantic 3) will offer a unique rotation that includes Southampton, Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Bremerhaven in Europe, followed by a direct route to the Gulf of Mexico, with stops in Veracruz and Altamira in Mexico, and then Houston and New Orleans in the United States, before returning to Southampton.

In a further expansion of its Transatlantic offerings, ONE will also enhance its North Europe-US West Coast service with the AL5 service, which will now feature Miami as a direct port of call. This update to the AL5 rotation is set to take effect in February 2025 and will provide an additional link between Europe and the fast-growing markets of the U.S. Southeast.

The updated AL5 (Transatlantic 5) service rotation will be as follows:

Southampton – Le Havre – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Miami (new*) – Cartagena – Rodman – Los Angeles – Oakland – Rodman – Caucedo – Southampton

The inclusion of Miami as a direct port of call is expected to significantly benefit shippers by providing faster and more direct access to one of the United States' most important commercial and cultural centers.

These new services and enhancements represent a significant commitment by ONE and its partners to the Transatlantic trade lane, reflecting the growing demand for efficient and reliable shipping solutions that connect the economies of Europe and North America.

The collaboration is poised to strengthen the position of all participating lines in the highly competitive container shipping market, while also offering customers a wider range of routing options and improved transit times.
