Delivery Features
Local Pickup and Delivery: Walmart Marketplace is offering local pickup and delivery for sellers with brick-and-mortar stores. Customers can pick up their items directly or have them delivered the same day through Walmart's last-mile delivery network.
Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) Offers Bulky and Multi-Carton Delivery: Walmart is offering more delivery options for sellers of bulky items such as canoes or trampolines, who can now use Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), a fee-based program that offers services including storage, picking, packing, and shipping, as well as return processing and customer service. These new services mean more items can be labeled "fulfilled by Walmart. According to Walmart, third-party sellers on its online marketplaces have seen an average of 50 percent growth in gross merchandise value (GMV) after moving their merchandise to WFS.
Moving into Chile: In addition to its existing Canadian, Mexican, and U.S. marketplaces, Walmart will open its third-party marketplace in Chile to eligible cross-border sellers early next year.
Marketing Features
Branded Store and Branded Shelves: with the Branded Store feature, sellers can create their own online storefront while easily creating their own curated pages. And branded racks allow sellers to build shelves to showcase curated products or try to sell nodular collections.
VIRTUAL GARAGE: The new Virtual Garage feature on Walmart.com and the Walmart app allows customers to store details about multiple vehicles. The feature also connects to the service appointment scheduling feature in Walmart's car care centers. When customers use this feature, they can easily shop all of Walmart's automotive merchandise, including products from third-party sellers.
Walmart Offers Incentives for Third-Party Sellers
In an effort to attract and reward new sellers, Walmart has introduced a number of incentives. In January, the retail giant launched a limited-time program called "New Seller Offer," which allows new sellers in the U.S. marketplace to take advantage of up to a 25 percent reduction in commissions for 90 days when they try out tools and services from Walmart's marketplace.
