Rhenus, a leading global logistics expert, is further expanding its existing business in the Latin American (LATAM) market through strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the consolidation of its service teams to take advantage of the region's growing potential for global supply chain connectivity.

 

BLU is a leading LATAM freight forwarder with more than 180000 TEUs of seaborne shipments in Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, and Uruguay, as well as the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

 

In addition, Rhenus has acquired a 51 percent majority stake in the LBH group, which operates in more than 30 countries around the world, including six in the LATAM Latin American region, and has established additional alliances in several Central American countries.

 

With the acquisition of 51 percent of BLU Logistics and LBH, Rhenus Air & Ocean is one step closer to achieving its own target of 1 million TEUs a year by 2026.

 

The merger of the BLU and LBH teams will increase the Rhenus Group's LATAM Latin American workforce by 2200, strengthening Rhenus's contributions to the region by strengthening local capacity and contributing to global expansion.

 

These strategic actions are aimed at strengthening Rhenus's business in LATAM to accelerate further growth in global trade and to enhance its Asia-Latin American trade routes, nearshore capacity, and service choices in line with industry trends in procurement and supply chain diversification.
